Ephemeral City
Venice
An Early Study in Looking
Over 18 years ago, I created this book. Not a classic portrait of Venice, but a quest for what remains when you strip away the overall picture. I photographed structures, textures, details—silent witnesses to decay, time, and beauty.
This project was one of my first attempts to capture a city as a feeling. Without an overview, without a map—only traces.
The book marks the beginning of my photographic journey. Then without a real goal, now with a clear direction: capturing presence, vulnerability, and what reveals itself when you truly look.
